62-Year-Old Woman In Critical Condition After Burnside Ave Crash: Police

LAWRENCE, NY. — A 62-year-old woman was left in critical condition Sunday after being struck by an SUV while crossing Burnside Avenue, police said.

Nassau County police said the woman was crossing the street near the intersection with Washington Place when the SUV struck her. The SUV left the scene traveling west on Burnside Avenue, while the woman was hospitalized, police said.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said. Anyone with information is encouraged to call crime stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, police said.

As of Monday morning, police had not identified the woman publicly.
