Crime Watch: 3 at Rec Center Feel Ill, Brought to Hospital

Recent police activity as reported by the RVCPD.

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

  • Derrick Beverly, 46, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on Aug. 13 at 3:10 p.m. and charged with second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct following a police investigation at his residence.

  • Steven Munoz, 22, of Baldwin, was arrested on Aug. 14 at 1:18 a.m. for driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and unlawful possession of marijuana following a police investigation in the vicinity of Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.     

  • Lenox Pascal, 37, of Freeport, was arrested on Aug. 16 at 2:28 a.m. for driving while intoxicated following a police investigation in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

  • Christopher J. Osterman, 20, of South Hempstead, was arrested on Aug. 18 at 4:06 a.m. for driving while intoxicated following a police investigation in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.  

  • Attempted Burglary

    • The office manager of St. Mark’s United Church, located at 200 Hempstead Ave., reported  to police on Aug. 15 at 9:44 a.m. that an unknown person(s) attempted to gain entry to the church sometime between Aug. 9 and Aug. 15.

    Investigation

    • Police and fire department personnel on Aug. 15 at 3:03 p.m. responded to the Rockville Centre Recreation Center, located 111 North Oceanside Rd., for a report of three persons feeling ill. The three individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical evaluations. A check of the building yielded negative results for any type of contaminants.
