Crime Watch: DWI and Home Break-Ins

The following information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests:

On April 8 at 9:09 p.m., Phillip J. Martinez, 55, of Rockaway, was arrested on Lakeview Avenue in Rockville Centre, pursuant to an open arrest warrant from the Village of Hempstead for Violation of Animal Control Regulations. 

On April 10 at 4:40 a.m., Charles L. Rose, 43, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicle traffic law offenses on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

Attempted Burglary:

On April 7 at 11:30 a.m., a South Park Avenue resident reported that an unknown person attempted to gain entry to her apartment, damaging the door and door frame sometime on April 6 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. No entry was made to the apartment. 

Burglary:

On April 8 at 8:03 p.m., a Revere Street resident reported that an unknown person entered his residence through a rear window without permission sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 8:03 p.m.  Proceeds included $180 and assorted jewelry.  

Criminal Mischief:

On April 7 at 12:05 p.m., the owner of Art’s Flowers, located at 41 North Village Ave. in Rockville Centre, reported that an unknown person damaged an air conditioning condenser located outside the business sometime between April 6 at 6 p.m. and April 7 at 8 a.m.

Larceny:

On April 4 at 2 p.m., a Grand Avenue resident reported that an unknown person stole his 2002 Mercedes from the parking lot behind his building sometime between April 3 at 1 p.m. and April 4 at 1 p.m.

On April 7 at 11:46 a.m., an employee of Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 North Village Ave. in Rockville Centre, reported that an unknown person stole two medical scopes from an office within the hospital sometime between March 18 at 3:30 p.m. and March 21 at 1 p.m.
