Crime Watch: Rash of Home Burglaries

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Arrests:

On Nov. 19 at approximately 2:49 a.m., Jonyer F. Trujillo, 21, of Freeport, was arrested for third-degree assault following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of 60 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 19 at approximately 2:49 a.m., Ferney Trujillo, 20, of Freeport, was arrested for third-degree assault following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of 60 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 19 at approximately 10:23 p.m., John A. Dessil, 42, of Brooklyn, was arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument following an investigation by police personnel in which the defendant passed counterfeit U.S. currency at Croxley's Ale House, 7-9 South Park Ave. in  Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 21 at approximately 11:32 p.m., Keith Moore, 24, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for disorderly conduct following an investigation by police personnel in which the defendant was causing public alarm and annoyance by yelling, screaming and exposing himself in public in the vicinity of North Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Burglary:

On Nov. 21 at 10 a.m., a complainant from North Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered her residence through an unlocked side door without permission sometime between 12 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and stole $40 from her purse that was left on the kitchen table overnight.  

On Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m., a complainant from Locust Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered his unlocked motor vehicle which was parked in the driveway of his residence, and then entered the residence through an unlocked window without permission sometime between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m., and stole $100 from his wallet and his wife's purse that were left on the kitchen counter overnight. There was no reported loss from the vehicle.

On Nov. 21 at 4 p.m., a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered his unlocked motor vehicle which was parked in the driveway of his residence and then entered the residence through an unlocked rear door without permission sometime between Nov. 20 at 11:30 p.m. and Nov. 21 at 7:30 a.m. There was no reported loss from the vehicle or residence.

Attempted Burglary:

On Nov. 21 at 8:30 a.m., a complainant from Locust Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered his unlocked motor vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of his residence, and then attempted to enter the locked residence through the front and rear doors without permission sometime between Nov. 20 at 11:30 p.m. and Nov. 21 at 7:30 a.m. and stole $10 and a set of keys from the motor vehicle. 

On Nov. 21 at 11 a.m., a complainant from Southard Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) entered her unlocked motor vehicle which was parked in the driveway of her residence and then attempted to enter the locked residence through the rear door without permission sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. A set of keys were removed from the vehicle and they were later recovered lying next to the rear door of the residence.

On Nov. 21 at 12:15 p.m., a complainant from Locust Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) attempted to enter the locked residence through the rear door without permission sometime between Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 21 at 8:15 a.m. There was no reported loss or damage.

On Nov. 21 at 5 p.m., a complainant from North Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) attempted to enter the locked residence through the side and rear doors without permission sometime between midnight and 4 p.m. There was visible damage to the doors and door frames where an entry was attempted.
