Dec. 12: Civil War Painting Exhibit, Breakfast with Santa at Rec Center

Take a look at what's going on around RVC this Sunday.

1. If you're interested in gaining a new perspective on religion, Molloy College is hosting "Forgiveness, Restitution, Reconciliation — Theological and Sociological Perspectives" at 3 p.m in the Hays Theater.

2. Didn't have time yesterday to bring your kids to meet Santa at St. Agnes Elementary School? Jolly Old St. Nick will be at the Recreation Center for a breakfast at 9: 30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Reservations are required, so call 516-678-9338.

3. Have any hazardous materials that need to be disposed of? Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Field No. 3 at Eisenhower Park, the Town of Hempstead will hold its STOP (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) collection program.

4. St. Mark's Methodist Church hosts its Sunday morning service at 10 a.m. It is open to anyone who wants to attend.

5. Are you a historian? Then you might enjoy, "For us the Living" Civil War painting exhibition at the Nassau County Museum of Art from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The exhibition consists of approximately 50 paintings accompanied by a selection of documentary objects. Many of the paintings are from Künstler's own collection, others are from various private and public collections. For the first time, visitors to a Künstler exhibition will gain an inside look into the artist's creative process through a display of his sketches, drawings, preliminary studies, photographs and props. This major exhibition fills the museum's first and second floor galleries.
