Dec.18: Defensive Driving Course at Library, Card-Making Seminar at Hampton Inn

1. Need to shave some points off your license? Or want to save a few bucks on your car insurance? You're in luck. The is hosting a defensive driving course from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost is $25 for drivers 55 and over and $40 for all other drivers. Register by phone or at the Adult Reference Desk.

2. Don't let your kids miss out on the last day of free bowling lessons at RVC Lanes! From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., kids ages six and up can get free lessons. Call 678-3010 or email to rvclanes.net to register.

3. If you enjoy arts and crafts, and need some fresh idea for holiday cards, head to the  on Merrick Road for a scrapbooking and card making seminar. There are two sessions — the daytime workshop session is from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and costs $22. The evening card making workshop runs from 5  p.m. - 8 p.m. and costs $27.

4. Does your teen need an outlet for their creative writing skills? For library cardholders in grades 7-12, the library is hosting its Writer's Workshop so writers can create, share and discuss their work.

5. Spread some holiday joy by donating to Toys for Tots. Head down to 13 Atlantic Ave. in Freeport to donate anytime between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.
