Family Pleads Desperately That 'Everyone Keep Their Eyes Open' For Missing LI Man

Petros Krommidas, a Nassau legislative candidate, has been missing for nearly 2 months — but his family hasn't given up hope of finding him

BALDWIN, NY — The family of Petros Krommidas has not given up hope. Krommidas, a candidate for the Nassau County Legislature, has been missing for nearly two months.

Last week, Krommidas' sister Elena Lemonia Krommidas posted to Facebook that they encourage people to "continue to be on the lookout."

He went swimming in Long Beach on April 23. His clothes were found a short time later near the boardwalk, but there has not been any other signs, police said.

"We’re asking everyone to keep their eyes open, in the water and on land," she wrote on June 12. "Stay alert in town as well, just in case."

Krommidas' mother Maria has posted continually since her beloved son went missing, asking for help in the search.

In the days and weeks after Krommidas' disappearance, drone operators and others patrolled the waters near Long Beach in search for him.

Krommidas, who turned 30 since he went missing, is from Baldwin.
