Nassau Couple Brings Home Premature Baby After More Than 2 Months
The baby was born at 28 weeks and weighed only one pound, 13 ounces.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A Freeport couple has plenty to be thankful for this holiday season. They took their newborn home after two months at Catholic Health Mercy Hospital.
Perla and Dahibel Perez's daughter Daila was born prematurely on September 4. She was delivered at 28 weeks and weighed only one pound, 13 ounces.
However, after 64 days in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Daila was discharged weighing five pounds, 2.3 ounces.
