Supervisors from Town of Hempstead, Oyster Bay and North Hempstead praised President Trump and the Federal Highway Administration.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — Several Nassau County politicians took a victory lap on Thursday in response to the shutdown of congestion pricing.
Supervisors from the Town of Hempstead, Oyster Bay and North Hempstead applauded President Trump and the Federal Highway Administration for reversing the controversial toll for entering the city below 60th Street.
"This is a massive win for working-class commuters and for Long Island as a whole," said
Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin. “We have stood firmly against this money grab every step of the way, and this support from the federal government is a good sign for things to come."
