Harris Tapping Walz As Running Mate Is 'Missed Opportunity': Expert
The Democratic National Convention starts on Aug. 19.

LONG ISLAND, NY — After two weeks, the drama ended on Tuesday morning when Vice President Kamala Harris named Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate for the presidential race this fall.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Arizona Senator Mark Kelly were also finalists, meeting with Harris during the final weekend.
Political strategist Naysa Woomer, who grew up in Philadelphia, and most recently was former congressman George Santos' communications director, said of the Walz pick:

“Vice President Harris had every opportunity to select a more moderate like Governor Josh Shapiro from a must-win battleground state to balance out the ticket. Unfortunately, this was a missed opportunity and she has chosen to pander to the far-left progressive wing of her party," Woomer said.
Harris and Walz were scheduled to debut their ticket at a rally Tuesday night in Philadelphia. They will officially accept their party's nomination at the Democratic National Convention starting Aug. 19 in Chicago.
