Hempstead Town Pools Extend Hours As Temperatures Soar

HEMPSTEAD, NY — With another hot day in the forecast for Friday, the Town of Hempstead is giving its residents more time to keep cool.

Hours are extended at all town pools until 8 p.m.

With the high humidity and temperatures in the low 90s, it's expected to feel like up to 105 on Friday.

An air quality alert is also in effect until 11 p.m., the National Weather Service said.
