Jan. 19: Free Bowling for Seniors, Board of Ed Meets at HS

It's Wednesday, which we all know is the "hump" day of the week. Get through today, and the weekend is around the corner! With that in mind, here are five things you need to know for today.
1. If you're a retired senior and find yourself bored, head down to RVC Lanes from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and enjoy some free bowling. Not only will you receive some basic instruction, but some light refreshments as well. Please call 516-678-3010 and register in advance for the senior lessons.
2. hosts its Board of Education meeting tonight in the high school cafeteria at 8:30 p.m. Let your voice be heard on the issues affecting your children.

3. There's also a at the high school at 7:30 p.m. This is a general session meeting, but parents should feel free to attend and find out how they can help the PTA in its myriad endeavors.
4. Benjamin Hawriluk, a South Side High student, was named an Intel Science Competition semifinalist. Find out what the local brilliant science student researched for his project when our profile of Hawriluk posts at 4 p.m.

5. Does work stress you out? Need to unwind, but don't know how? Join instructor Marianna Farina at the Rockville Centre Library from 10:30-11:30 a.m.for Chi-Gong — an ancient Chinese healing art based on meditative movement and breathing techniques. There is a $15 non-refundable fee for the six-week session.
