LGBTQ Bar Launched During COVID-19 Closes

OCEANSIDE, NY — BTW, an LGBTQ bar that opened during the pandemic in 2020, shut its doors last weekend.

As the owners posted to Facebook: "It's been a hell of a ride."

Gina and Dave Wuestmann, of Rockville Centre, told Newsday that the timing ultimately cost them the night spot.

"COVID killed us. We started building right before COVID hit, then we had to stop construction,"

BTW was an acronym for "Born This Way."

"Don't be said that it's over, be happy it happened," their Facebook post said.
