"This is a significant advancement for breast cancer patients in Nassau County who are seeking treatment close to home and access to no-cost bilingual (English and Spanish) support services, said Angela Papalia, Assistant Director of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program, and one of the social workers providing services at Mercy.

Key objectives for the program are to expand clinical services, provide education and resources to increase patients' quality of life.

Joseph Manopella, Mercy Hospital president, said: "This collaboration allows us to serve more residents in our community and provide accessible, compassionate care to patients at every stage of their diagnosis and recovery."
