LI Cares To Delivery Produce To Seniors With New Truck
They'll distribute free, locally grown fresh produce at a pair of Town of Oyster Bay Housing Authority locations.
PLAINVIEW, NY — Long Island Cares is debuting a custom-built farmers market truck this month. It will be used to distribute free, locally grown fresh produce to seniors at a pair of Town of Oyster Bay Housing Authority locations.
"Fresh is best, and we are elated to offer fresh access by way of mobile services to Long Islanders in need," said Dr. Jessica Rosati, Long Island Cares VP for Programs & Community Services.“

- Sheppard Hill Apartments in Plainview (10 a.m.)
- Oakley Avenue Apartments in Massapequa (noon)
"I am very excited to hear about the launch of your new program, Farm to Truck. I know our residents will also be excited about the addition of this program," said Mary Cirillo with the Housing Authority.
Long Island Cares has been delivering free food to seniors since 2020.
