LI Restaurant Creates Large Valentine's Day Display
The designer used more than 20,000 artificial roses for the romantic scenery.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The over-the-top Christmas display was so popular at Frank's Steaks that the restaurant created a Valentine's Day motif to get customers in a romantic mood.
Once again, designer Michael Delahanty was called on to create his magic.
There are more than 20,000 artificial roses and themed areas, including an all-white "Wedding Chapel."

It's Delahanty's first time he was asked to build a Feb. 14 display.
"We took all the Christmas [decorations] down and rearranged it," Delahanty told Patch.

There's the lighter "Garden Terrace Lounge" in the main dining room and a "Lover's Lane" in the front of the eatery.
As part of the project, Delahanty added six chandeliers with roses dangling, of course, and 4,000 red lights. You'll also find some specially placed neon hearts and "love" lighting up the room, plus a teddy bear.
"It's hard to do when people are in the restaurant," he said. "At 4 o'clock, we would hold back and then when the customers left at 11 we would start working through the morning."
Owner Chris Meyer said Delahanty and his associate knocked it out of the park-- again.
"This is totally mindblowing. They totally exceeded expectations," Meyer said.
The display will remain through February and Frank's Steaks is carrying over the Valentine's Day theme onto the menu with a special prix fixe for the month.
