Long Beach Wrestling Tournament Remembers Lazar LaPenna, 2 Others
It takes place on August 3 at the Edwards Boulevard Beach.
LONG BEACH, NY — A Long Beach wrestling tournament is being dedicated to Lazar LaPenna, the youngster who collapsed and died while playing Little League in 2022.
The Jones & Gillespie East Coast Beach Wrestling Tournament will be held on August 3.
Two other wrestlers, who passed away, will also be remembered: Joshua Encarnacion and Michael Berube.

Food and music are part of the tournament for spectators at Edwards Boulevard Beach.
The entry fee of $30 includes a day-long beach pass. Registration deadline is Aug. 1. Medals will be awarded to the top four finishers.
