Longtime Rockville Centre Doctor Dies At 67
Alan DeRovira had a family practice on Hempstead Avenue.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A beloved family doctor from Rockville Centre has died of cardiopulmonary arrest, Newsday reported.
Dr. Alan DeRovira was 67.
His funeral service was scheduled for Tuesday at Towers Funeral Home in Oceanside.

“If he didn’t have his stethoscope around his neck, he didn't feel complete, his wife Rachel told Newsday.
A tribute page said the DeRoviras lived in Oceanside. He will be laid to rest at the Greenfield Cemetery in Uniondale.

"He was a dedicated practitioner, loving father, and husband and will be greatly missed," posted to his Facebook page.
DeRovira, who specialized in general medicine, was affiliated with Catholic Health Mercy Hospital. He earned a medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine and did his residency at Nassau University Medical Center.
"He was a brilliant doctor, a caring and compassionate soul, and a pillar in the community," the Facebook post said.
