Man Shoplifting From Supermarket Caught With Crack Cocaine: Police

Brandon McFadden faces charged that include first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

OCEANSIDE, NY — A Far Rockaway man, who stole items from a Stop & Shop supermarket in Oceanside on Monday, was arrested a short time later with a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine, police said.

Brandon McFadden, 69, is charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree menacing and petty larceny, police said.

An investigation revealed McFadden has two open bench warrants from New York City. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
