March 25: FD Bond Presentation Recap and Kids Planner

Thank goodness it's Friday! The weekend is finally here, so as you plan out how you're spending your weekend, let us tell you what's happening in and around the village so that you can start your weekend off right.

1. Did you miss the RVC FD's presentation for a $21 million to rehab its firehouses at last night's village board meeting? RVC Patch will have a recap of the presentation posted this afternoon.

2. The South Side High School boy's lacrosse team dropped its season opener on Monday to Cold Spring Harbor. Did they rebound against Syosset in their second game of the season? Find out when the story posts at 10 a.m.

3. Need help planning your weekend? Our Grab & Go Kids Planner, which outlines family fun activities in and around the village, posts today at 12:30 p.m.

4.  If you got kids between the ages of 10-14 who want to have some fun on a Friday night, take them down to Hot Skates, the Merrick Road skate rink on the border of Lynbrook and Rockville Centre. From 7-9:30 p.m., kids skate for free! Adults are not allowed during the teen skate, though adult chaperones are permitted.

5. Don't forget that on Sunday, the recreation center will host its annual craft and flea market from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come down and support local merchants!
