Oh Thursday, if you could only be Friday! Only one more day before it's smooth sailing to the weekend, so as you prepare to finish up your work week, let us tell you what you need to know today.

1. It's that day of the week again. The  hosts its adult game night tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. , so come down, take a load off and relax while playing Nintendo Wii and some board games.

3. For National Read Across America Day, Patch will outline a local librarian's top five books for adults and children. Patch Picks posts at 3 p.m. 

4. The in nearby Lynbrook is hosting a three-hour women's self reflection seminar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The program will have a series of workshops to review relationships and personal development, family, finances and fun.

5. For high school kids who want to have some fun with their friends after school, head down to  at 4 p.m. for its High School Challenge Bowling League. For $10, teams of three can compete in three games, and rental shoes are included. A trophy will also be given to the winning team.
