OCEANSIDE, NY — Lorraine Hamilton's association with the New York Mets dates back to 1980. The Oceanside native resumed her career with the team in 1994 and has been there ever since.

Hamilton is getting her due with induction this weekend into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame.

She is the executive director of broadcasting and special events, a title she's held since 2001, according to her LinkedIn page. There have been several "special events" that Hamilton orchestrated, including the Tom Seaver statue unveiling last season at Citi Field and the 50th anniversary reunion of the "Miracle Mets" championship.
