MINEOLA, NY — Nassau County is set to honor President Jimmy Carter this week. It's an update from last week when a Democratic county legislator complained about flags not being lowered in the county, despite the declarations by Gov. Hochul and President Biden.

However, on Sunday, a spokesperson for Blakeman sent a terse statement:

"The flags in Nassau County will be at half-staff for President Carter from the commencement of Lying in State on January 7th through burial on January 9th.”
