PHOTOS: RVC FD Extinguish Old Canterbury Car Fire

Officials said no one was hurt in the blaze.

A car at the intersection of Roxen Road and North Village Avenue was engulfed in flames early Saturday night, however, it was extinguished quickly without injury by the Rockville Centre Fire Department.

According to officials, the RVC FD was alerted to the car fire at 7 p.m. on Saturday night and initial reports led firefighters to believe there may have been a person trapped inside. Fortunately, there was no one in the burning car and the department extinguished the fire without injury.

Officials said the car may have burst into flames after it suffered a flat tire and was driven on a tire rim for a distance.
