Preparations Being Made Ahead Of Wednesday's Strong Storm

PSEG Long Island has been "monitoring the storm" and says it's ready to handle the poor weather conditions.

UNIONDALE, NY — With the strong winds and heavy rain forecasted for Wednesday, preparations are being made on Long Island.

PSEG Long Island says it can handle whatever the storm brings. Up to three inches of rain expected to drench Long Island with wind gusts up to 55 MPH with the potential for power outages from downed branches on wires.

“PSEG Long Island has been monitoring this storm, and we are prepared for potential impacts on the system," said Michael Sullivan, vice president of Electric Operations at PSEG Long Island. "We have performed system and logistic checks, and have a full complement of personnel who will mobilize for restoration in foul weather conditions. Our crews will work to safely restore any outages as quickly as conditions will allow."
