Five Pennies Creamery will close this month after 12 years, owner Dan Levine said on Facebook.
"Serving this community has been one of my proudest accomplishments and highlights of my life. I've seen generations of kids and families grow; I have grown with them," Levine said.

"I’m 69 and I’m tired," he told Newsday. "And driving three hours a day is just too much."
Still, Levine was proud of the role Five Pennies played in the community since COVID-19.
"Day in and day out, I have served smiling faces who laugh in the face of darkness," he wrote on Facebook.
