Rockville Centre Preps For First Snow Of 2018

The village is ready for Thursday's snow storm. Are you?

The Village of Rockville Centre is getting ready for the snow that's going to hit the area on Thursday, and it needs residents to do their part.

The estimated snow totals keep ticking up, and right now Rockville Centre is looking at four to eight inches of snow. Tonight, residents should move their cars off the street, if possible, to give plows a clear road. The village also asks residents to stay off the roads during the storm if possible.

Individuals are responsible for clearing the snow from sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses. If you have a fire hydrant on your property, it is your responsibility to clear a space around it so firefighters can access it. Also, the village reminds residents to not clear snow into the street — it just creates more of a mess for plows.
