RVCPD's Romance Graduates from FBI Academy
Romance becomes third member of force's executive staff to graduate from the elite police training center in Quantico, Va.

The Rockville Centre Police Department has taken another step forward in strengthening its executive staff with elite, one-of-a-kind training.
Rockville Centre Police Lt. Christopher Romance recently graduated from the FBI’s National Academy in Quantico, Va.; an elite training facility that many police officials consider the Ivy League of senior police training and instruction. Romance is the third member of the force's executive staff to graduate from Quantico.

Lt. Romance was among 266 law enforcement officers from 25 countries, 49 states, three military organizations and six federal organizations to successfully complete the academy’s 247th session in December.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the program offers ten weeks of advanced investigative and management training for selected officers having proven records of accomplishment within their agencies.

“Lieutenant Romance has joined an exclusive club; it is an honor to be selected to attend this course and an achievement to complete it,” said Police Commissioner Charles Gennario.
“The Department will greatly benefit from his executive development,” Gennario said. “We take great pride in congratulating him.”
Lieutenant Romance joined the Rockville Centre Police Department in 1997. He was promoted to sergeant in 2005 and to lieutenant in 2010. He earned a B.S. in computer science from New York Institute of Technology in 1994.
Lieutenant Romance has earned several professional awards, including the Town of Hempstead’s Police Service Award and the Nassau County Municipal Police Chiefs Association Distinguished Service Award.
A total of 45,297 have graduated from the FBI National Academy since it opened in July 1935.
