Man Attempted To Kidnap Woman In Nassau: Police

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A man was arrested on a charge of attempted kidnapping in Rockville Centre on Wednesday morning, police said.

Issac Diaz Tollinchi, 56, who has no known address, was hiding in a garbage can and attempted to grab a woman as she arrived at her job, police said.

The 48-year-old victim was able to break free and called police. Tollinchi fled the scene, authorities said.

An investigation led police to arrest him on Thursday. Tollinchi was located near the victim's residence. He was placed into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.

He is charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Tollinchi was scheduled for arraignment on Friday.
