Upcoming Events For The Whole Family In Rockville Centre
Pumpkin carving, window painting, costume parades and more are filling the month of October.

Autumn is a busy season in Rockville Centre, and the Recreation Center shows it.
There are many events at the Recreation Center for the whole family celebrating Halloween. Here's what's coming up:
Oct. 20: Halloween Mural Painting Contest

Kids in grades 3 through 8 are invited to come to the Rec Center to paint the windows with Halloween-themed murals. The murals will then be used to decorate the Rec Center for the upcoming Ragamuffin Parade. Plaques will be awarded for Best in Show and Best Halloween Theme. There's no fee, but pre-registration is required either in-person or online.

What's better than carving pumpkins with your family? Carving pumpkins with your family while enjoying pizza! Families can pay up to $25 (for up to 4 people, with $5 for each additional person) to come to the Rec Center for a pumpkin carving pizza party. The Rec Center will supply pumpkins, carving tools, decorations, pizza and beverages. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative jack-o-lanterns. Pre-registration is required either in-person or online.
Oct. 28: Halloween Ragamuffin Parade and Party
Children of all ages are invited to participate in the Rec Center's annual Ragamuffin Parade! Kids in costume can come to Parking Lot 12, at the corner of Long Beach Road and Sunrise Highway, and march to the Rec Center. After the parade, families are invited to the Rec Center for a party, featuring John Turdo's Magic Show. There will be prizes for the most imaginative costumes. In case of rain, the parade will be canceled and the party will be held inside the Rec Center. Pre-registration is required either in-person or online, and there is a fee of $10 per family.
