As the sun shined down on on Saturday afternoon, friends and family of Jill Daly gathered to rejoice in a life that inspired them, and raise money to combat the blood disorder that took her away.

They did it through the second annual Jillian E. Daly Foundation alumni lacrosse game. Sixty two Rockville Centre PAL alumni participated in an 80-minute exhibition, showcasing both skill and a continued love of the sport they grew up on.

's class of 2012 graduates on Friday, and as most seniors are looking toward the future, a group of friends are making sure that no one forgets the past.

As part of their Assess Project needed for students in the International Baccalaureate Program, three seniors – Casey Cameron, Mike Gutman and Chris Harkins — built a memorial bench at to honor their friend Chris Vasiliou, who died of Vasculitis in 2008 during the summer before the boys entered high school.

1. Police: Group of Teens Attacked Man on Roxen Road

A Rockville Centre man was jumped by a group of rowdy teens and put into the hospital on Monday night after he tried to defend his wife from the group's taunts and threats, police officials said.

Two SSHS seniors were arrested and charged with gang assault.
