• Significant Funding Boost for Rome Lab (wktv.com) — Rome’s Air Force Research Lab at Griffiss is set to receive a huge $224.5 million funding authorization, exceeding the president’s original request. Senators Schumer and Gillibrand say the money will bolster Rome Lab’s work in quantum networking, cloud computing, drones, and cyber defense, strengthening both national security and high-tech jobs in the Mohawk Valley.
   

• Did You Know? Rome Snow Rules for Property Owners (wktv.com) — Rome officials are reminding property owners that they must keep cleared snow on their own property and are responsible for shoveling sidewalks, or they could face enforcement. Residents are also urged to dig out fire hydrants, keep kids away from roadside snowbanks, and remember that snowmobiles and ATVs are banned from city streets and sidewalks. These rules are being strictly enforced after recent snowfall.
   

• Woman found severely burned at Rome apartment complex fire has died (syracuse.com) — A woman critically injured in Tuesday’s devastating fire at the Countryside Apartments on Rome-Oriskany Road has died, bringing the death toll to two and leaving about 20 Rome residents displaced. Multiple fire departments battled the blaze for hours, one firefighter was hurt, and the Red Cross has opened a warming center at All Saints Parish on Hickory Street while investigators search for the cause.
