Driver Taken To Hospital After Vehicle Goes Off Road In Oakdale: Cops

The vehicle struck a fence about 500 feet off of Montauk Highway, Suffolk police say.

OAKDALE, NY — One person was taken to a local hospital on Thursday morning after their vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence in Oakdale, Suffolk police said.

The vehicle left the roadway and struck a fence on Oakdale-Bohemia Road, about 500 feet north of Montauk Highway, at around 9:30 a.m., and officers were notified by a 911 caller who indicated there was fluid leaking from the vehicle, according to police.

The male driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries, and a tow truck was called, police said.
