Firefighters Rescue Driver Trapped After Crashing Car: Police

Firefighters rescued a driver trapped in an Audi after it crashed late Tuesday night on Long Island, officials say.

BOHEMIA, NY — Firefighters rescued a driver trapped in a vehicle after a car crash late Tuesday night on Long Island, officials told Patch.

Shortly before midnight, the Bohemia Fire Department was activated for a car crash that left the adult male driver trapped in a demolished 2018 Audi, officials said.

Police said the driver was traveling Southbound on Johnson Avenue, just south of Aero Road in Bohemia, when he lost control, crosses over northbound lanes and stuck a tree.

Firefighters arrived and removed the driver from the vehicle in conjunction with the Community Ambulance Company, officials said.

The driver was transported to South Shore University Hospital for minor injuries, police said.
