Good Samaritan Finds Injured Man In San Souci County Park
A hiker called the fire department when he found an injured man in San Souci County Park.

A man was taken to the hospital after a hiker found him unable to walk in the woods at San Souci County Park Saturday morning, fire officials said.
According to the Sayville Fire Department, the hiker found the man but was unable to help him because the man's dog was "acting aggressively and not allowing anyone near his fallen master."
Sayville Fire Department Ladder 9, which was on the way to the community's annual Christmas parade, rerouted and responded and the caller guided them to the scene.

A family member of the patient arrived and took control of the dog and the firefighters were able to remove the man from the woods in a stokes basket after guiding a truck down the muddy trail in reverse, officials said.
