LONG ISLAND, NY — Incumbent State Senator Alexis Weik appears to lead the race for the NYS Senate District 8.

According to unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections, Weik has the lead with 78,657 votes (66.67 percent) over her Democratic challenger Francis Dolan's 39,281 (33.30 percent).

The 8th State Senate District covers portions of Suffolk County from Sayville to Massapequa.
