1 Hurt After Car Veers Off William Floyd Parkway, Strikes Guardrail: PD
A 42-year-old man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, Suffolk police say.
SHIRLEY, NY — A man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after the sedan he was driving veered off of William Floyd Parkway and crashed into a guardrail in Shirley, on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
The 2001 Mercury sedan had been traveling southbound on William Floyd Parkway, just south of Moriches Middle Island Road, when it crashed into the guardrail just before 4 p.m., according to police.
The man, 42, is believed to have suffered a medical episode, police said.
