3 Taken To Hospital After Crash In Shirley: Police

The driver of one vehicle, and two passengers in another, were taken to Stony Brook Hospital for treatment, police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — Three people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash on William Floyd Parkway on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A woman was driving a 2008 Honda northbound in the right lane on William Floyd Parkway, approaching Havenwood Drive, when a 2020 Hyundai made a u-turn while eastbound and struck a 2020 Jeep, according to police.

The Jeep, which was traveling in the left lane northbound on the parkway, struck the 2008 Honda, police said.

The woman driving the Honda and two passengers in the Hyundai were taken to Stony Brook Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The crash snarled traffic for a time, and drew multiple first responders to the scene, raising residents' concern on social media.
