4 Busted In Illegal Vape Sales To Minors In Suffolk: Police

More than 3,000 illegal products were taken from one gas station, Suffolk police say.

Four people were busted in connection with selling tobacco and vape products to people under the age of 21 during compliance checks at multiple businesses in Mastic and Shirley on Thursday, cops say. Here's a photo of some products, according to police.

SHIRLEY, NY - Four people were charged with child endangerment in connection with selling tobacco and vape products to people under the age of 21 during compliance checks at multiple businesses in Mastic and Shirley on Thursday, Suffolk cops say.

In response to community complaints, 7th Precinct Crime Section officers, with help from the county’s Department of Health’s Tobacco Enforcement Unit, checked nine locations for age compliance related to sales of vape and tobacco products.

The following people were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child:
• A 31-year-old Centereach resident employed at Royal Grocery and Deli on Montauk Highway in Shirley.
• A 22-year-old from Brooklyn employed at Evergreen Mart on Montauk Highway
in Mastic.
•A 21-year-old from Port Jefferson Station employed at Shirley Smoke and Cigars on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley.
• A 48-year-old from Medford employed at Ocean Gas on Montauk Highway in Shirley.

More than 3,000 illegal vape products were seized from Ocean Gas, police said.

All four people were issued Field Appearance Tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
