- William Floyd Board of Education is recruiting a community member to take the vacant seat left by trustee Robert Guerriero who passed away. - The Town of Brookhaven is bringing Santa on a helicopter on Dec. 2 at the Holtsville Ecologic Center! Hot chocolate, music and other fun activities will be available starting at 6 p.m. You might like to know that it's a free admission event. (Patchogue Patch)
- Congratulations to William Floyd High School student Zariel Maccha for winning the Class A Girls Cross Country Championship in Verona, NY. Macchia guaranteed first place with over fifteen seconds ahead of other racers. (WFSD)
- Mastic-Moriches-Shirley Library is hosting a sea turtle walk/beach monitoring at Cedar Beach on Saturday, Nov 19, at 10 a.m. The event will be led by one of the scientists of the Atlantic Marine Conservation. - Rashawn Brinkley, of Medford, is facing first-degree sexual abuse charges after allegedly sexually abusing two boys at Gordon Heights Children’s Park.
