Arson Squad Investigating Mastic Beach Fire: Police

The fire started at around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Suffolk police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — Arson Squad detectives are investigating a fire that broke out at a home in Mastic Beach on Sunday night, Suffolk police said.

It started at the Neighborhood Road home at around 6:30 p.m., and it was doused by the Mastic Beach Fire Department, according to police.

There were no reported injuries, police said.

That was not the only fire that area firefighters responded to over the weekend.

A second fire broke out a day earlier in the yard of a home on Havenwood Drive and William Floyd Parkway in Shirley at around 4:44 p.m. on Saturday.
