Man, 92, Trapped Inside Car In Garage Rescued In Shirley: Police

UPDATE: He was evaluated at the scene by the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company, Suffolk police say.

SHIRLEY, NY — A car became struck in the garage of a home, trapping a 92-year-old man on Wednesday morning in Shirley, Suffolk police said.

At around 9:12 a.m., the man drove the car into the garage of the Floyd Road home, and it became struck from belongings that were inside, according to police.

He was evaluated at the scene by the Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company, and there was no damage to the vehicle or his home, a police spokeswoman said.
