- Patch checks out nonprofit Branches LI's upcoming new community center in Middle Island which will let the community organization offer classes and after school programs. (Patch)
- A Moriches Elementary School student recently raised $4,300, which was tripled by an anonymous donor, by biking 20 miles in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Ricky Taylor, a third grader, raised the funds for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. (Subscription: Newsday)
- Pearl Harbor Sailor Fireman 3rd Class Kenneth L. Jayne will have a burial event at Cedar Grove Cemetery on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. to be put to rest in his family plot after 80 years of being missing in action. (GreaterBayShore)
- Peggy Spellman Hoey tells us that police are looking for a man who used a stolen credit card at Home Depot in Coram on Oct. 12. The credit cards were stolen from an unlocked car on Woodland Road in Miller Place on the night of Oct. 11. (Patch)
