Elderly Man Injured In Mastic Beach House Fire: Police

The fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon on Lafayette Drive, police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — An elderly man was injured in a Mastic Beach house fire Wednesday, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, a 911 call was received at 2:52 p.m. reporting a fire on Lafayette Drive.

The Mastic Beach Fire Department and Mastic Beach EMS responded; the Town of Brookhaven fire marshal was also at the scene, and the Suffolk County Police Department's arson section is investigating, police said.

An elderly male resident of the property was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said; no other injuries were reported.
