Garage Fire Draws Area Firefighters To Mastic Beach: Police

No injuries were reported, Suffolk police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY — A fire broke out in the garage of a home in Mastic Beach, drawing area firefighters on Monday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The fire started at around 4:15 p.m. at the Washington Avenue home, and Arson Squad detectives were called to the scene to investigate, according to police.

It was the second fire to break out in Mastic Beach in under a day.

Arson Squad detectives were also called to the scene of a shed fire in the backyard of a home on Johns Neck Road, between Harrison and Robinson drives, at around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to police.

No injuries were reported in either fire.
