Here are the top three stories today in Shirley-Mastic:

  1. Shirley detectives are investigating an accident involving a Ridge resident. A man was seriously injured when he fell off a ladder while working on installing gutters on his home on Conservation Circus. He was air-lifted to Stony Brook Hospital. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
  2. William Floyd School district announced a vital safety message on its website concerning afterschool activities. Students who leave the school after the 1:30 dismissal will not be allowed to re-enter the building. Visit the link I've shared to read the entire message. (WFHS)
  3. A holiday parade will be held six miles away from Shirley! The Center Moriches Fire Department will start driving their festively decorated truck to light up Main Street beginning at Montauk Highway and Lake Avenue and ending on Ocean Avenue on Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. (Moriches Chamber of Commerce)
  4. The Shirley Trinity Baptist Church announced the distribution of 200 Thanksgiving Meal Baskets for those in need on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event organizers ask those interested in participating in calling 631-399-1044 to reserve a basket pickup.
