  1. A man was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery in Mastic Beach. According to the police, the man showed a knife to another person on Whittier Drive around 5 a.m. He stole cash from the victim and fled the scene. Police were able to relocate the suspect and press charges. (Patch)
  2. The Gateway Playhouse announced the new season of plays open in March featuring "Evita." The production shows Argentina between 1934 and 1952 and the journey of a young woman, Eva Duarte de Perón, who wanted to be an actress. (Patch Events)
