Here are the top four stories in Shirley-Mastic today:
- A man was arrested for stealing a catalytic converter outside a house on Decator Avenue in Shirley. Neighbors saw suspicious activity around 11:52 p.m. and called 911 with a description of a minivan parked in the street that didn't seem to belong to residents. Jason Labbe, 45, was arrested and is scheduled to show up in court on Tuesday. (Shirley-Mastic Patch)
- Center Moriches Fire Department Holiday Parade Of Lights at Main Street is set for Saturday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. The parade starts on Main Street and goes towards Ocean Avenue. Santa will show up at the end of the parade at the Center Moriches FD Tower Ladder. (Moriches Chamber of Commerce)
- A hate crime-related arrest has been made at Eastern Suffolk BOCES Sequoya High school. A 14-year-old was charged after threatening to kill members of the LGBTO community last week, according to the police. The case was brought to Suffolk County Family Court.
