  1. The man responsible for a fatal drunk crash in Shirley was convicted on Wednesday. Jordan Randolph was highly intoxicated on the day of the incident. Police tried to pull him over due to impaired driving. However, he fled at high speed and hit another vehicle killing a 27 year- old driver from Westhampton Beach. The sentencing is in March. He faces fifteen years in prison. (Patchogue Patch)
  2. A family from Shirley is desperately looking for their coonhound-beagle mix, "Zeke," who got lost on Sunday during a home fire. Two neighbors spotted Zeke escaping through the backyard fence during the incident. Another person reported Zeke was in the wooded area of the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge.   • Town officials made a public announcement at the Terryville Fire Department on Wednesday, Feb. 15. U.S. Congressman Nick LaLota shared the numbers of a federal funding granted to be invested in road safety in the town of Brookhaven. Five billion d0llars is expected to be invested in the next five years to help reduce road deaths in the county. (TBR News Media)
  • Long Island travelers can celebrate two new flights added by Breeze Airways at MacArthur Airport. The company will offer nonstop flights to Richmond and Pittsburg from May through September. If the demand for these flights is excellent, the service returns next summer. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
  • Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library will have a registration table for those who want to sign up for the Mastic Sports Club.
