Man Dies After Getting Hit By Car On Long Island: Police
A man was hit and killed by a Hyundai while crossing the road on Long Island Friday night, according to Suffolk County police.
MIDDLE ISLAND, NY — A pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing the road on Long Island Friday night, according to Suffolk County police.
Robert Trombly, 56, of Middle Island, was crossing in the westbound lane of Middle Country Road, near Tudor Lane, around 9:20 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound 2021 Hyundai Sonata driven by Giovanna Cieslak, police said.
Trombly was transported by Middle Island Rescue to NY Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Cieslak, 19, of Coram, was not injured and the Hyundai was impounded for a safety check, police said.
